After several decades of hard work it’s probably fair to say that everyone would like to be rewarded with membership to the millionaire club in retirement.
In recent years we have seen a significant shift in gender role attitudes with more and more women taking up senior roles in industries such as financial planning. Here at Skybound Wealth Management UK, we are excited to be a part of such positive changes and as such are happy to announce our support to the UK Government sponsored initiative; Women in Finance Charter. The charter aims to tackle gender balance across financial services making the workplace a fairer industry for women and also commits to support the progression of women in senior roles in the financial industry.
In March 2016 the government launched the HM Treasury Women in Finance Charter to encourage the financial services industry to improve gender balance in senior management. Since the date of launch, the charter now boasts more than 400 signatories and Skybound Wealth Management UK are proud to be one of them.
We are delighted to be one of the signatory firms pushing for change by pledging to this charter and we are fully committed to ensuring we deliver the charters targets, but also creating a more gender- balanced workplace. We are currently researching and putting together a plan that will involve people at all levels of the organisation to have their voices heard and become the driving force for change.
Thirty percent of our people at Skybound Wealth Management UK are female. This has increased considerably over the last 12 months and this is a trend that is set to continue in 2021. We have also brought in new HR policies that ensure a happy and inclusive working environment is provided to women on all levels of our organisation.
Skybound UK’s managing director Fiona Neill says:
“As a female in a senior role, I know that positive changes can happen, which is why it’s so important for firms to get involved with initiatives such as the Women in Finance charter. However, I am well placed to understand which side of the scales the weight tips in gender balance and that currently needs more work.
Here at Skybound, we are firmly committed to taking positive action towards female representation in the financial industry and I am proud that Skybound can be a part of this positive change.”
At Skybound, we are focused on not only creating a fair, positive and safe workspace for our employees, but are also committed to supporting women at all levels to achieve their career ambitions and any personal development goals. We are proud to foster an inclusive culture and look forward to working with the Women in Finance Charter.
